Thank you, I no longer have to watch the finale because I just read what is going to happen! Kidding, I will probably still watch just to see what might be the final…

Haha, now I’m going to start crackshipping Elli and Alex!  I will try to recall from the best of my memory, because now it is a scary long time ago that this all first aired.  Basically, s6 Alex helped Paige during/after her flameout from Banting (she was the one who let Paige’s mom know she was flunking).  Alex broke up with her gf, she then tried to hook Paige up with guys because she said it would be easier than seeing her with another girl…Um, something else happened, maybe, then they got back together.  Alex’s mom’s deadbeat boyfriend went to jail for credit card fraud or something so they needed money.  Alex became a stripper, Paige found out and got mad, but then Alex quit bc her mom wasted the rent money on bailing out the dirtbag.  They had a really sweet reunion at prom in the finale, and it was just a total postive ending in the season finale.

Then season 7 happened, Alex became a deadbeat in 2 weeks even though her victory lap year had gotten her head screwed on straight.  Marco and Ellie got bitchy, “oh when is she moving out?”  Then Paige broke up with her because she became a pot head again and ruined some thing she asked her to do for work.  I couldn’t even watch after I read the spoilers.  Ugh.

Thank you!  I only knew about Alex stripping and her mom bailing her dirtbag abusive boyfriend out of jail.  But wasn’t sure on the rest.  So dumb.  Alex wouldn’t have become a deadbeat like that.

Someone told me that the original idea was Alex and Ellie to get together (which would have made way more sense IMO) and that they were slowly setting them up starting with the episode “Queen of Hearts.”  Ellie’s line of “I like this, doing this.  The partner thing works for me.”  Plus, not to mention their respective boyfriends pretty much cheated on them (emotionally on Sean’s part) with the same girl.  Emma.

Ah!!  I love old-school Degrassi scoop.  As much as I love my Palex, I’d totally be down for Ellex.  There was some good groundwork laid there.  I wonder why they changed their minds.  Ever hear any rumor as to why?  I think I read a couple fics for them back in the day.  Do you have any you remember that you’d recommend?

Also, who in their right mind would cheat on their gf with EMMA?  Good lord, I hated that girl.

WARNING: The following video and rant contain spoilers to an upcoming Arthur episode, watch/read at your own risk. And if you do read my rant, please watch the video first.

Seriously, Arthur?!!!

I’m not sure how many people know this, but I’m a HUGE ArthurxSue Ellen shipper, and have been for the past seventeen years (about twenty if you count when I started shipping them after reading Arthur’s Valentine back in grade school).  Over the years that Arthur has been on television, there have been very few Sue Ellen centered episodes, and even fewer where we get to see just her and Arthur interact for the majority of the episode.  So, being the die hard shipper I am, you could only imagine my excitement when I saw this new video.  Granted, it was clear in the title that Arthur had wronged Sue Ellen in some way… BUT THIS?!!  This would have been my LAST guess! Arthur, why you gotta be so mean?!!  Especially to Sue Ellen of all people!  I have to be honest though, I really don’t know what bugs me more:  his meanness towards Sue Ellen, or him just being completely out of character in general.  Now, I know Arthur isn’t perfect, but this in my mind was way to extreme for him.  Especially considering that Arthur is usually the voice of reason in these situations, not the one to join in and certainly not the instigator.
Now, I do realize that in the past he commented that Francine looked like a marshmallow in a sweater she was wearing, and later actually called her marshmallow out of anger when they were locked in the library.  But honestly, calling someone a marshmallow is way better than calling them a dog.  At least “marshmallow” could be a term of endearment in another context.  I know he also joined in when the other kids were making mean comments about Francine in Draw!.  However, even in that situation there was a point where Arthur mentioned that maybe it was hurting Francine’s feelings, to which Fern snidely replied, “She’ll get over it.”  Though even in that situation their actions seemed a bit more justified.  Not that it made them right, but one could at least understand why they did it.
I understand that they wanted to give a different view as to what bullying is, but did they really have to use Arthur for this lesson?  It just doesn’t make sense to me.  What baffles me even more is that Francine and Muffy were calling him out on it?!!  If anything, I would have thought it to make more sense if one of them were to be the bully in this situation, not Arthur.  I’m also a little peeved about how easily the situation was able to resolve itself.  I know this is a kids show, but come on!  She was considering transferring classes for goodness sake!  It would have taken far more than a quick apology and a ridiculous gesture to make things alright again.  Also, I want to know when Sue Ellen suddenly became one of Arthur’s best friends. Though let’s be honest, a lot of things in this episode don’t make sense. But seriously PBS, I think it’s about time you put Arthur into retirement. This just isn’t working for me. It really hasn’t been working for awhile.

Ok, this scene seriously pissed me the hell off.  SUE ELLEN WOULD BE HAVING NONE OF THIS SHIT!!  Have we forgotten she was going to beat the crap out of Binky back in the day before he chickened out?  And you’re right, Arthur is extremely out of character.  As much as he bugs me sometimes, he would never act so maliciously, especially to one of his friends.  And I extremely dislike when they retread old themes.  They already have done bullying, it was done very well, there’s no need to rehash!  Because if you do, it will simply make no sense because it will make it look like no one has learned anything.

Screw this show.  Screw the awful writing.  Screw the godawful art direction.  Screw the make-your-ears-bleed voice acting.  Screw the atrocious music score.  And most of all, screw the execs that have run the show into the ground.

Your comments were awesome.  Thank you for alerting me to just how much lower this show has fallen, since I refuse to watch it anymore.  I will now go drown my sorrows in season 1 episodes.  At least we will always have gifs…
